Kimberly Lavon wears many hats. She is a fine art printmaker, graphic designer, author and gallery owner.
Her body of work is a visual manifesto, making real the otherwise intangible in human experience
– joy, loss, possibility and more.
In addition to creating original works for public and private collections, she offers workshops in her studio in East Lansing, MI. Her work can be seen locally as well as many places across the country.
As an artist, Kimberly has been recognized both locally and nationally. She is the recipient of many awards including The 2012 Individual Artist Grant. The 2012 and 2017 Chris Clark Fellowships (Both presented by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.) She has the important distinction of being the very first recipient of the Top Of The Town Best Visual Artist award. (Presented by the Lansing City Pulse and Fox 47 WSYM TV.) She is also a participant of the Arts Council of Greater Lansing’s 2012 & 2016 Art in the Sky Billboard Project.
Her printmaking has been exhibited in many esteemed places such as: the Detroit Institute of Art annual ofrenda exhibit (2016) and Lansing Community College’s permanent art collection (2011) Her largest piece to date is a cut out of the shape of Michigan. The piece encapsulates over 15 linocuts celebrating Lansings diverse landscape. It is on permanent display at Lululemon in Eastwood Towne Center.
Kimberly has been featured professionally in both solo and joint exhibitions since 1999. She holds a B.F.A. in Fine Art Printmaking and Graphic Design from Kendall College of Art and Design. Circa 2009.
